SCANTOOL ISO PCB MOD

HOMEPAGE

This is needed where Rover (& possibly others) have not connected Pin 5 of the OBD connector.

If your Scantool does not show any flashing leds when you plug it into the OBD connector, then it is probable that pin 4 is missing. You can do a visual check to confirm this.

The solution is quite simple & requires a soldering iron.

Unclip the lid from the Scantool. Undo the 4 hex screws holding the connectors to the case. Gently prise apart the 9pin end of the case (it may bend a little, but can be straightened during reassembly). The pcb can then be lifted out from this end.

Refer to the photo to identify pins 1 & 2 of the row of 5 that need linking together using a blob of solder.

Reassemble the interface.

Now when you plug it in, the leds should flash (they will do this with the ignition on or off, as pin 16 of the connector is always live (battery volts).

hence needs the mod.

7 - K line - used for OBD

15 - L line - can be used for OBD but not used by ROVER.

16 - permanent battery volts - used to power the interface
